that's sad to see as someone who loves a lot of old fighting games and can understand that 3s is mechanically deep and interesting to a lot of people but not for me

most beginners don't get to that point though and don't care to explore the genre, when fgs are the most accessible theyve ever been

so when a new player tries 3s first (this happens extremely frequently) because they heard it's the greatest fighting game ever and they end up not liking it or getting it

they decide other fighting games aren't worth trying because the best one wasn't even good to them

the idea that 3s is the greatest fighting game ever made hurts new players a lot i think

some amount of that sentiment is coming from people that really do love 3s, probably a good amount of it is coming from the more casual audience though

mystery brackets are fun, i am so bad at sports and puzzle games though so that will be a roadblock

but its funny that im passably good at fighting games now after a few years and i can squeak out some wins in those
