ya bugger.
you are making me want to go back to the world of pwei now ..

it really is one the best albums ever imho.
the darkness vs the soundscapes vs the tunes.
whenever i put it on i get shivers all over.
also, the 'house of black lanterns' album is just as good albeit with more club friendly beats.

sunday session : after another saturday evening of social and live music chaos (the egg - live in my little town!),
it's time for an album i have not heard in a very long time.
samples, downtempo, layers.
i loved this random charity shop find more than anything by zero7, royksopp etc.
CD Coverart : LHB - Tell'Em Who We Are

i would suggest that the bass man was not the only aspect re the band that was underrated.
so so so many brilliant songs that still sound amazing.

friday session : time for jungle to take over the soundsystem for a while.
this mixtape hits the spot when you need some old school jungle mixed in with modern variations.

friday session : now that i have the album properly via legally bought 320 download, the latest skrillex album is still the most fun album i have heard all year.

friday session : released via bandcamp a couple of hours ago, currently on it's second spin.
feels so weird to be enjoying a new pwei album when i am in my late(ish) 50s.
yeah, it's more of the same (noise, samples, beats, puns etc), but damn, it's a lot of fun.
CD Coverart : PWEI - Delete Everything

every time i have seen AMS he has been hidden behind the mixing desk.
which is exactly where he should be of course.

and then there is ghetto priest.
a long forgotten part of the labels history.
he has been part of the extended label family for years, but during the lost years, he and AMS put together an album.
this track has tested many an amp over the years.

yeah, i saw him "support" the orb in the early 90s and it was pretty much the same.
that said, also saw him support Foetus (maddest double act ever !), and he just played and mixed stuff via the mixing desk and yet was brilliant.
