It would have cost, probably why they didn’t do it. Multiple hours of music, sixty musicians recording dense material, perhaps six minutes per hour. I’m coming up with a rough calculation in the six figures, and I guess they simply didn’t budget for it. But man, it would have been something to hear!

The first time I played the game, Sakimoto’s incredible score jumped out at me right away, and part of what I loved was the lush orchestral writing. Writing like that deserves a live orchestra, and I’m sad that we don’t get a chance to hear it that way.

Absolutely loving the remaster so far, but there’s a thing bothering me. I dearly wish that Square Enix would have made the call to rerecord the soundtrack with live instruments.

When I am really into something, I get this overwhelming passion energy that I just need an outlet for. After watching the show and reading some of the light novels, I just had to do an arrangement of some Apothecary Diaries music. I literally just love it so much, I needed to.

Question for friends who are more knowledgeable about releasing music and the associated metadata - one has one’s own artist name and has done many solo releases, now looking at releasing music as part of a larger group. Is there a way to help the algorithm know that you’re part of the band?

PROGRESS ON THE ALBUM FRONT! I hammered out an arrangement of FFVII Vincent's Theme, The Nightmare Begins. It has a couple of heavy influences, one is the version from FFVII Rebirth where one first meets Vincent. Another is Stravinsky's Firebird, which gave me ideas for enhancing the texture.
