Over many months, this process guides the teeth into the desired final position, after which one must wear their retainers, to keep the teeth in this last position long enough to ensure the bone solidifies and keeps the positioning

It's why the first few days after a tightening are painful, that's the sensation of the nerves moving as the bone breaks down and reforms. Once things settle, the pain subsides primarily, until the next tightening, where the process is repeated

Today's Medical Tidbit From Stream: Not many people know just how braces straighten teeth! The pressure applied by the brackets/wires causes the underlying bone of each tooth to break down, gradually reforming in the socket in a position opposite the direction of the pressure

LUCKYYYYYYY. I try my best to brusha brush well, but I'm just not the best at it so I end up with cavities sometimes. Past my wisdom teeth, getting my lower left first molar removed a few months back was the first other tooth I've ever had removed

As such, the wisdom teeth are commonly removed, whether or not they'd end up being problematic, a fairly simple surgery that removes all four at once. For some people, who's wisdom teeth come in perfectly, they don't need to be removed! Lucky...

While most teeth come in straight, naturally, the wisdom teeth have a tendency to end up sideways, or at an odd angle, before they erupt, causing them to come in impacted, potentially harming the other teeth, alongside causing issues with the gums if they don't erupt fully

Yesterday's Medical Fact from Stream (am forgor to post-): The wisdom teeth are, in fact, not that wise! The last of the adult teeth to come in, typically erupting between ages 17 and 21, they often times end up being a PROBLEM!

Title: Fitting In

The blue triangle gets an idea, and pulls out a saw. She starts shaving the corners of herself off in an effort to look more like a circle.

The mean orange circles laugh again, saying “What a loser, LOL” while the blue triangle looks sadly at all her corner pieces that read “loud,” “eager,” and “hyper.”

A green square shows up, with bandages all over its corners, carrying a red envelope. They help the blue triangle to her feet.

Green square proceeds to open the red envelope to reveal band-aids and re-attach the blue corners (starting with “loud”) to the triangle.

Triangle is all put back together. A purple hexagon and pink parallelogram enter the scene, excited to be there and also donning bandages on their corners.

Last frame: shapes standing together among a long line of same orange circles. The red envelope with bandages can be seen center stage.
