Rick Astley looking like some kind of Ventrue nerd, just hella bullied by every other member of the clan.
Rick Astley from the "Never Gonna Give You Up" video wearing a tan raincoat and dark sweater, standing in front of some arches bathed in an oversaturated blue light.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Midge Ure, who was with "The Boys Are Back In Town" Thin Lizzy, "Fade to Grey" Visage, and "Vienna" Ultravox, turned down the Sex Pistols' lead singer spot and also co-wrote "Do They Know It's Christmas" for Band Aid.

Doing not much but thinking about music this Sunday morning and how you occasionally get performers who surpass their origins. People like Belinda Carlisle, who has been making music for like 50 years now but you never really associate her with her throwing up, fighting, scabby start with the Germs.

Insufferable, admittedly, but part of the holistic work that genslop of a plasticky duck with a Yoda head couldn't approach.

I held my own art project hostage until my teacher agreed to pay me $20K, which she didn't, but she acknowledged that my "performance" was part of the piece. It was a block of wood upon which I had painted the words "ART PROJECT." GenAI could never.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.
wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
You people couldn't hang with real slackers.

"Magneto!" he shouted in challenge to the stormy night. "I'll see your blood in payment for your betrayal at Endor!"

In distant Ripon, one of an army of brass ED-209s shuddered to life.

Rain fell on a bleak night, with wan moonlight fighting its way through pendulous clouds to cast long shadows across the grounds. Lord Grantham perched in front of Downton, tweed-clad legs tensed with the will to spring toward his foe, a rain-spattered, moon-dappled katana unsheathed at the ready.
