P.s. That ending was shot, but hasn't been seen since it was screened for test audiences.

Another FROM HELL movie done for the book. THE TEMP (1993) was written as a black comedy and rejigged to turn it into a serious thriller after the success of THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE. The original ending had Lara Flynn Boyle baked alive in a cookie oven!

At the weekend, I had the absolute pleasure to chat with director Ian Corson about his From Hell thriller MALICIOUS (1995). Lots of interesting details not made public before, including the fact that he wanted Matthew McConaughey for the male lead (but producers went for Patrick McGaw instead).

Good suggestion! I have seen it ages ago. I remember Mamie Van Doren being in it.

A double bill for the weekend!

A rare mainstream newspaper critic review for the 1983 slasher MOUNTAINTOP MOTEL MASSACRE. It won't come as too much of a shocker that it's not good!

In September 1984, The LA Times listed upcoming horror releases. Spot the title changes!

Haha. Now there's a suggestion!
jakerswell.bsky.social
Thanks for the suggestion!

Not heard of that one. Thanks for the suggestion!

Any suggestions for the 650th review on Hysteria Lives!? Has to be a slasher (or related) or Giallo or similar. :)

Maybe add in a vodka martini.

New Review: TERROR AT LONDON BRIDGE (1985) ***

"Admittedly, (it) leans more toward MURDER SHE WROTE than FRIDAY THE 13TH. The Ripper’s outfit and hat sometimes give the film a vague sense of the Giallo genre, probably unintentionally."
