The assassination of JFK. In my elementary school in Flushing NY one day a week we sat in the auditorium. Our teachers would grade tests while we watched PBS on a rather small black and white TV. Then the sad news hit the airwaves. The teachers cried. I didn't know teachers could cry.

If you or I and our family were stuck in a cage while someone was poking us with a sharp stick everyday and I was that person, I wouldn't be surprised if you broke out and tried to kill me.
