Hi Dawn. “Not a moral issue” was an answer category available for all respondents. Respondents could answer morally acceptable, morally unacceptable or not a moral issue for all items. There were no additional instructions. Let me know if you need more information!

40% of South Koreans surveyed in 2023 said that rule by a strong leader or the military would be a good way of governing their country. Support for authoritarian government was higher among those on the ideological right.

FROM THE ARCHIVES (2019): Views of Trump's first term tariffs were not positive in ANY country surveyed (33 of them).

This included 79% of Canadians & 85% of Mexicans who disapproved of the U.S. increasing tariffs or fees on imported goods from other countries.

Shortly after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, half of Americans, including equal shares of Rs and Ds, saw the action as a major threat to U.S. interests.

Today, just three-in-ten Americans say this and there is a large partisan divide (42% D vs. 19% R).

53% of Americans think Trump will make "good decisions about foreign policy", but that includes 88% of Republicans but only 19% of Democrats.

Russia & President Putin are not popular among Americans of all political stripes. 86% of Republicans, 91% of Democrats had little or no confidence in Putin’s ability to handle world affairs in our April poll. And majorities of Ds and Rs see Russia as an enemy

Our most recent Global Attitudes report looked at public opinion in Turkey. While most of the survey was on domestic issues, Turkish opinion of foreign powers was featured, and per usual it's pretty negative! For example, 80% have an unfavorable view of the U.S.

- Median of 58% across 35 countries have a favorable view; 31% have a negative view

- Favorable views of the UN have dipped over past year

- People on ideological left are more likely than the right to express a positive opinion

Just updated with new data: How people in 32 surveyed places around the world feel about same-sex marriage

Around 90% or more support it in Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain. Around 90% or more oppose it in Nigeria, Indonesia and Kenya.
