Trump voters are watching the wealthiest Americans become the richest they’ve ever been, while houses remain unaffordable, healthcare costs rise, and outstanding credit card debt hits a record high of $1.2 trillion, the result of hard-working Americans desperately struggling to stay afloat.
Republicans Have A Trump Problem
The government shutdown continues.

Republicans are not putting America first. They are prioritizing their quest for power over your needs.

Republicans are unfit to govern.

Republicans view discussion, debate, and compromise —the hallmarks of a democratic society —as weaknesses. They feel that bullying and cruelty, the foundations of authoritarian regimes, are the basis for leadership.

Republicans would rather have military members go without pay, flights to be delayed, and needy children to go without food than sit down with Democrats to solve the looming healthcare crisis.

Republicans are threatening to:
-Mass fire federal employees
-Withhold legally required back pay
-Cancel federal funding for energy products while electricity costs are soaring

All to punish the American people for the embarrassment of their government shutdown.

You've got to love the Republicans, who are like:

"I was so deeply involved in a plot to overturn a free and fair presidential election that the FBI had just cause to investigate me. Can you believe it?!"

Another day that the government is shut down, and the House is on recess, because Republicans refuse to deal with the issue of unaffordable healthcare and premiums that will more than double for over 20 million Americans.

Stop viewing it as a zero-sum game where helping someone else means you lose something in return, and realize that when we work together, all of our lives improve.

Instead of worrying about the 0.4% of Medicaid spending that goes to reimbursing hospitals for emergency medical services provided to uninsured individuals, we should focus on solving the issue of insurance by enacting universal healthcare, like the rest of the world.
jaredryansears.bsky.social
How callous have we become, with such disdain for other human beings, that the argument has become not only if hospitals should be reimbursed after saving someone's life, but whether that life should be saved at all?

Why won't Republicans be honest about the situation and be mature enough to have a public discussion about how over 90 million Americans say they can't afford quality healthcare?

Republicans are not taking their job as leaders seriously, and all of us are paying the price.

If it is about money, then why are we bailing out Argentina with $20 billion? Why are we about to bail out farmers because China is buying soybeans from Argentina instead of the US due to Trump's tariffs?

Why don't Republicans care about hard working middle and working class Americans?

Why don't they want to ensure that we have the healthcare we need to stay healthy and to remain in the workforce?

In addition to the brutal cuts in the OBBB, premium subsidies for the ACA are set to expire at the end of the year, resulting in over 20 million Americans seeing their healthcare premiums more than double.

What is the one thing Republicans haven't done? Address the issue of healthcare access and affordability that Democrats want to fix.

-Trump also threatened to fire hundreds of thousands of federal employees as another way to punish the nation for the shutdown, instead of working to find a solution.

-Trump's administration decided to cut funding for energy projects at a time when home electricity prices have risen 9.5% this year as a way to punish the nation for the shutdown.

-They tried to say Democrats wanted to get rid of a $50 billion rural hospital fund, but all that did was remind everyone that Republicans cut over $150 billion in Medicaid funding for rural hospitals and then added a $50 billion fund in its place to try to act like they were trying to help.

So far, Republicans:

-Lied that Democrats want to give undocumented immigrants free healthcare.

-Proven wrong, they tried to focus on emergency care, which covers the uninsured, so that people don't bleed out or give birth in an alley. Emergency care accounts for just 0.4% of Medicaid spending.
