Because as a drug addict I was manipulative and really good at it. Like really really good at it. And then that would leave me back in the same place. And I couldn't be trusted with a bottle of Xanax or Valium or Klonopin or whatever. So that's why someone like me has to be 100% sober. Forever.

It's been over 20 years now since a drink or a drug. I could dabble and probably be ok. At least for a little while. Alcohol was never my thing. But if I had a drink and somebody had a Xanax I'd be taking it. Then I'd be going to the doctor and getting a prescription. And I would get it too.

What you're describing with your ex is a person that shouldn't be doing it. When it's a challenge and a difficulty and someone's life like that to need it that much that's something where they're addicted and they need to fix it going forward. They need to abstain 100% totally.

Yeah I could see the medicinal value of it and as a substance itself I think it should be legal. But that doesn't mean that everybody that could do it should do it. Like I shouldn't do it. For me it makes me angry actually. Now if I were to use it it would just open my doors to do something else.

The thing I've learned about these people is that if they admit ANY BAD THING or ANY TINY FLAW the truth is always THE WORST IT CAN POSSIBLY BE. That's what you need to assume with them. If they told you ANYTHING negative it's because it's SO BAD they can't hide it. 100%.
