Retired writer, editor, and software developer. Very liberal fan of Bernie Sanders. Proponent of letting people make their own choices rather than letting the government tell women to not have abortions and the families of trans kids to not have treatment.

I automatically block certain people who follow me: Accounts about spreading religion, accounts about pictures of pretty girls, accounts about sharing the winnings of a lottery, accounts about MLM and other scams (including "entrepreneur coaching"). Some of you folks are wasting your time.
I got my monthly receipt today. Money very well spent. 🙂
Traitor One and his treasonweasels are there to serve themselves, not the public. If there is an exact opposite of FDR and TR and Abe Lincoln and George Washington, it's Traitor One.
Well, the people who did the programming (the GOP from Nixon onward and the billionaires are the problem. The people they've brainwashed are their first victims, who then make the rest of us into victims. It's like a zombie plague, with a red hat rather than a virus to remove brains.
I think a backlash is finally forming to push back against the craziness of the right. It's early days yet, but it's starting. We're beginning to see it here in the US, too.
I detest it. The trouble is that I also detest having people I don't know in my home.
GOP health care plan: Fuck off and die, poors. Oh, but not until we bankrupt you.
Heyo, Saja. Rest up now so that you can wake up John at 3 AM. 🙂
You have that just to prevent someone else from launching one in your name, right? I recall that you do that on many sites. Wise move for a public figure, IMO.
On behalf of everyone downwind, thanks. 😉
The stupid fucks don't get that The Great Gatsby is, among other themes, a criticism of the wealthy in the gilded age, which is exactly on target now. Tone deaf barely begins to have having that kind of party while cutting SNAP benefits.
Sorry to blast you with three replies. We hit subjects I care about a lot, retired or not.
I have always regarded game writing as a form of technical writing, and I admire it when it's well done. I have also been known to rewrite not so well written rules for my own game group to use. Yes, I'm fussy. That goes with the territory. 🙂
Definitely. I find that two things matter in any design project: the details and the constraints. Once the designer understands those, all the rest falls into place. That's much easier said than done, as I'm sure you know.
As (retired) technical writer (and programmer), the part of these things I enjoy the most is the instructions. It takes a lot of thought and work to write good assembly instructions.

Yes, I know. I'm weird. I am unconcerned by that fact. 🙂
Then the see America accurately.
The teachers and principals who let that happen need to be fired.
Of course he is. Perfectly on brand for him.

May he die today.
Assuming they do it. Traitor One is happy to ignore the law.
100% correct. No one but the wealthy ever benefitted from the trickle-down bullshit.
Happy Halloween. Trickle-down economics is nothing more than a cruel hoax designed to enrich corporations and the super-rich. For working people, it's been 40 years of all trick and no treat. Enough.
I can think of some others who belong there. John Roberts comes to mind. The decisions of his court continually undermine our nation.
In some ways, it's going to force us back to the early days of the WWW. We'll have to create our own forums in which to communicate with friends and relatives and like-minded folks, because we won't be able to trust the tools that companies provide. Open source will be the way.
There's no practical difference. Both refuse to follow the law.
I call it the Supremely Corrupt Court. John Roberts is one of the principal devils in the evil that has befallen my nation. May he rot in the Hell he believes in, even though I don't believe in it.
