Two friends in two days have announced that they are retiring. Man alive - it's getting harder and harder not to think of it myself, but I don't think I'm quite there yet. Mind you, one bad day at work could easily push me over the edge.

Have spent all day listening to a 'drip' in the kitchen that I couldn't find. Concerted effort of over an hour established that it wasn't a leak, but a low battery warning on my old Carbon Monoxide detector. Feeling like a right dope! I'd bought a new one but forgot to remove the old one.
Sorry to hear that Robert Redford has died. Loved his performances in Three Days of The Condor and Brubaker as well as the more popular stuff like All The President's Men / Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid. Spent many hours watching his movies over the years. RIP

Lol 1st time I tried it I was ~15. Fell off the side of Ben Lomond with 35lb pack on my back, limped on to Inversnaid before admitting defeat, taking the ferry to Balloch, train into Glasgow and going to A&E to be told that I'd torn the ligaments in my ankle and given crutches for 6wks. Fun summer 😂
I came here to suggest the West Highland Way too. It is a fantastic walk. Think it is 96 miles from Milngavie (pronounced Mullguy - don't ask!) to Fort William and the landscape is stunning. To be fair, as a Scot, I am biased. Try and avoid midge season and expect rain. May is likely best weather.
