Vice City had the perfect content/map size combo. San Andreas was a good game but so much of the map was just empty, and having to travel for 5 real world minutes just to start a mission, and having to do it again and again if you failed, was a pain in the ass.

I remember when they were advertising GTA: San Andreas they said it would have 2x the content 3x the map of Vice City and I thought, that’s 33% more nothing? You don’t make a better pizza with 2x the toppings and 3x the dough, even if it’s decent dough.

Content density needs to be a metric.

Please don’t fill my storage space with 100s of 4k normal/specular/rough/reflection mapped textures of cement, bricks and pavement. The Witcher 3 was amazing looking, much more than that will be lost.
