I’m halfway through this standalone thriller by Abir Mukherjee. Hunted is slightly more commercially-geared than his Wyndham & Banerjee series, but Mukherjee’s heart and skill as applied to exposing prejudice is bang on.
Best wishes for the reading!

Cue Teflon Tony, continuing a policy of colonialism by another name that began in Palestine in 1917, having a terrible track record on such dealings and yet named by the latest British PM to HELP Gaza alongside Trump.

If I tried to represent all the years I’ve spent reading short stories, I’d loosely suggest a hodgepodge of anything by Alice Munro, George Saunders, Raymond Carver, Lucia Berlin, Anton Chekhov, Petina Gappah, Helen Simpson, and Romesh Gunesekera. Have a lovely Sunday 😅

‘General elections are not referendums. They aren’t even referendums on whether to have a referendum. The referendums we get are the ones the system has been reduced to by its failure to handle the matter on its own.’
