Great news. It must be soul-destroying to keep resitting an exam in which the content is mostly inapplicable in most jobs. I would advocate for most pupils to sit Functional Skills Maths Level 3, while those who have a strength in this subject could opt for GCSE Maths.
On that, I challenged myself to present an ePoster rather than my usual go-to of a ppt presentation. Thank you to those of you who attended the session, asked thought-provoking questions, and offered interest and positivity in my work. I hope to be back for BERA 2026 with an update!
Great to have attended my first British Educational Research Association (BERA) conference in Brighton last week! It was heartening and inspiring to attend some fascinating sessions on a range of topics, and my brain is fizzing with ideas and the drive to complete my PhD research.
Thanks for including me - esteemed company indeed! Onwards for true inclusive education...

You should care about disability rights even if you don't care about other people at all. If you stay alive long enough, the question of whether you’ll become disabled is less a matter of if than when. #MS #PPMS #MultipleSclerosis
Pleased to have been invited to present my research at the #BERA Annual Conference 2025 at the University of Sussex. An opportunity to meet others with similar interests in #inclusion for #childrenandyoungpeople with #chronichealthconditions.
They've unwittingly given you so much to write about. All the best with your PhD - it sounds very much needed.

Love the etymology of the English language! So rich, thanks to all the people who have made these islands their home over thousands of years. Long may it continue…
The Welsh told the Saxons this hill was called "pen" (meaning "hill"). The Saxons added their word for hill, "tor," and called it Torpen (hill hill).

Later the Norse added their world for hill. So it became Torpen Haugr (Hill Hill Hill).

Now the English call it Torpenhow Hill (Hill Hill Hill Hill)
