I love that streusel topping.

Yup, you're right. But that means we are SOL.

There are several sets of "cops" out there. National Guard, ICE thugs, US military, and local LEOs. Couldn't the LEOs arrest the others if they are breaking the law on their turf?

Tonight was pizza night. This is turkey pepperoni and mozzarella. I buried the pepperoni under the cheese which is why you don't see it. My dog fights us for the crust...go figure.
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
Well, somebody is going to have to grow a pair and arrest the law breakers.

They are going to get sued if they use the name "SuperBowl". They'd better call it "the Big Game".

You've got that perfect: They demand power but will not take responsibility.

"Who Goes Nazi?" by Dorothy Thompson, Harper's, August 1941. Give it a read, play the game, see if you recognize anyone you know today. Sadly, it's going to matter. Brilliant, uncanny, timeless. Oh, and btw, RESIST like your life depends on it, bc it might. harpers.org/archive/1941...

For where I live (Sarasota) the gold standard insurance includes the ability to go to Moffitt Cancer Ctr in Tampa. They used to be in network for my PPO but next year they won't be. Is it worth planning one's whole life about having the ability to going to Moffitt? Many here would say yes.
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
On the new PPO my MOOP is $5500. And Medigap+Part D would be $5700 (not including the $185 mo Premium) Like you, my actual spend last & this year were way lower than that. But with health you just never know (& I am 77).
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
I compared next year's PPO with their HMO. The HMO is way more advantageous in what they are offering, but w/o the ability to go out of network. Currently ALL my doctors are in network. I have dental & vision from work. But there's that little nagging voice...what if you have a medical disaster?
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
Exactly...that is my break point...comparing the out of pocket max to the Medigap premium.Since it's insurance, I think I have to force myself to think that it's in case something bad happens, not that I need to find a cost conscious plan. Tho I hate having to also sign on for the additional Part D.
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
I am going to be paying that too in a few months. I actually think what the Republicans are doing is a scandal (how can anyone with a conscious not give people health insurance but instead think the rich need a break?) and I am happy the Dems are challenging them but what if there is an impasse?
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
I am currently on Advantage and was worried that I wouldn't be able to switch to Medigap but it turns out that if they eliminate your Advantage plan (which they did to me) you are allowed to switch over without any medical underwriting. It's called "guaranteed issue".
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
I have had the same experience. I always tell people my PPO is too good to be true...and I guess it really was because they are pulling it and raising the costs on the new plan. They want people in HMOs.
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
I am so glad I found you. I am going to the same thing and was getting ready to do a spreadsheet (lol). They dropped my MA and I need to pick a new one. This year my Specialist copay is $40; next year it's $75. That's just crazy!
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
All I am saying is that what is happening w. the ACA is affecting healthcare across the board.I am very sympathetic to those who are losing their subsidy...NO ONE should have to do w/o Health insurance.
jerzeegirl2000.bsky.social
Oh and btw, Medicare isn't free in case you are not familiar and for those elderly people with paltry income it can be difficult to pay the monthly premium.
