A rare Wormwood moth on my shed July 30th 2024. It's the very first to be recorded in Vice County62 (141124) OM1
and also a movie called "Charly" starring Cliff Robertson in 1968.
Lovely photo. I waited 78 years and saw the Aurora on both occasions. It was more than I had ever imagined, stunning colours and shifting shapes. Do you think if we all offer enough chocolate we might have a repeat this winter?
I WANT ONE! Please, pretty please.
It must be time for me to do the only astro I can! Lovely trails. I hope to try for 15 this winter, theoretically possible...
That's so very wonderful. Used to be huge numbers seen over Walmgate Stray years ago. I saw 10!!! this year.
And didn't we have wonderfully adventurous adventures...
Thank you, my dear friend.
xx
Didn't William Shakespeare say, "The lowly beetle when trod upon feels a pang as great as when a giant dies?"
Thank you. It's not really been very different from the usual walkies, eat, walkies...
But I've had some lovely surprises and my neighbours bought me a big box from the Fudge Kitchen. It's going to be soooo hard to eat it!
80 times around the Sun. At 02.25 Wed Sept 19 1945 the stork delivered me to my parents in a tiny West Riding village. all these years later, I've changed a bit, grown taller, travelled, grown shorter. Made some wonderful friends who are treasured beyond words.
A friend was talking about Whale Sharks this morning and here's this wonderful video. Thank you so very much for posting this footage.
And also how to pronounce that word. eg Row Bow Lead Read...
Every time I've visited I've politely asked if I could bring "The Duck" home with me. They've always said I could, as long as I could get him in my bag. Sadly I'm not Hermione Granger!
So sorry you won't be able to visit.
I don't know how many times I've seen this but every time I have the same lacrimal leakage. Thank you, Mr Winton, you were a hero to so many.
Thanks, hadn't realised they were not playing the GREAT GAME, hadn't counted the team numbers! Great to hear the size of the crowds though, the women's game is certainly doing well. Thank you for your help.
Brilliant. Do you know if the England team will be playing there and if any Valkeries are in the England team?
Looks like a decent crowd too.
2 Sept 2025. On this day in 1945, the beautiful baby who became my bossy, a few days older, Twin was born. It took us almost 23 years to find each other but the bond was instant and lasting. If there's an after life...
that Mary Poppins word!
Surprised and delghted to find a super Small Copper on evening walkies. The site has been without butterfly activity for several weeks. None at all at a different and usually very busy site, this morning.
You are most welcome. Thank you for posting so much "Joy"
Haven't read that for at least 6 months so perhaps another reading is due, my book is still intact. I think though, the sky would be even brighter if all the "stars" what ever they may be; all six of them if memory serves, were visible.
I don't know how many times I have watched this incredible performance, always with the same huge grin and leaky lacrimals. Thank you both for posting and reposting. 😀😘
I'm not seeing many, either; in my garden, on the streets or our usually prolific walkies sites.
Read about Large White butterfly and Cotesia Glomerata. There are many others and some parasites fall victim too "Big fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite them. Little fleas have lesser fleas - and so ad infinitum."
