Just my disjointed thoughts on the Boston Red Sox. Probably wrong a lot.

You also disregarded the notion that Breslow seemingly needed the pick from Pivetta to move on Bregman. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe we'll be receiving any picks this year from declined QOs. Maybe Giolito I guess?
Sure. I guess you think all the reporting surrounding the split FO was just all fake news?
He barely agreed to sign Bregman and it took Pivetta signing elsewhere and netting the Sox a draft pick for him to do it.
Schwarber is older and a DH only. If you want to believe that he's going to contradict everything he's ever said, more power to you.
My favorite is the people that have convinced themselves Breslow is going to give up a draft pick to sign Schwarber (assuming he gets a QO)
At least they can still sign Vladdy, right?!?!?!
Aaron Judge turns 34 next year
As down as I get on the team at times, I've been alive for the best period of Red Sox baseball possibly ever, and it just so happened to coincide with the Yankees worst. Cheers.
They don't even have a Babe Ruth to blame their curse on
Gotcha. Seems unlikely that they would be willing to commit to 4+ year deals with both Bregman and Alonso, although they may have to.
Lou Merloni leading the charge on signing Pete Alonso is very funny
How bad do you think the contract they give to Alonso will be?
He's actually not going to trade an OFer holy shit.
Breslow on whether he’d move an OF from the big league roster: “The surplus in the outfield is where we got really thin. … (But) everything has to be on the table” for roster-building in ‘26.
Unrelated, but the Sox were heavily linked with Yesavage before Montgomery fell right?
Thank god Craig extended Crochet when they did. My mind is going to some fairly dark places thinking about how bad this offseason/how mid the team could be next year but at least I'm not thinking about Crochet leaving in a year.
I understand a lot of stuff happened (injury, etc.) post Raffy trade but it's insane they don't have a Bregman deal worked out right? They announced for all to hear that he was the foundation the next great Red Sox team was going to be built on and have now allowed him to hit the open market again
Sounds like story won't opt out. That's good. Can't let him walk but also shouldn't pick up the third year, hopefully we avoid that situation
Surely 1 21 year old would have made this a competitive lineup
Yeah. Thank god he does interviews on the postgame though.
Jarren Duran had 2 months with an OPS below .700. He had 1 month with an OPS above .800. Not trading him last offseason, maximizing the potential return and correctly clearing an avenue for Roman to start opening day with the big club, was a monumental mistake.
That week when everyone was calling Breslow a genius for picking up a guy that the Nationals dropped was fun though
Wasn't there a report last offseason that Breslow and Co. viewed him as untouchable in the same way they viewed Anthony? Yikes.
He doesn't want you to be on the internet when he has success. It's the only explanation
The amount of people that fixate on his struggles as it relates to the rest of the lineup slumping is interesting also. Your nine-hole, platinum glove center fielder not hitting is not the reason the offense is struggling unfortunately and expecting him to be anything more than that is unrealistic.
DOB hates Yoshida so much lol.
