Before I can buy that a fertility clinic accidentally knocked a college student up with the baby of a dangerous mafia boss, I have to first believe that this room is actually inside of a clinic and that this random woman wearing a lab coat is actually a doctor.

With the trashy web-novel adaptations, it's fun to look for the trashy-fun ones all mixed up in the trashy-boring ones. It's hard because the acting has to be good enough to carry the insane hijinks of the plot. And the budget has to be high enough that the sets look believable.

Ep 8 - So, I've been wondering why the kingdom is so shitty to the shield hero. Even if they think the shield isn't as strong as the sword, spear, or bow, it's still a legendary magic weapon. But when Naofumi rages out, it makes me wonder if that curse is the reason they're so mean to him.

Ep 7 - Some light novelists write short fiction in collections in between longer, larger stories. I wonder if that's what these mini-stories are.

Ep 5 - So eps 1-4 seemed to be the first arc and the story was really dark. But then as soon as Ep 5 started, the story seemed to become a lot more light hearted. There's more teasing and silliness, and somehow the MC has inherited a chocobo.

Ep 1-4 - Naofumi is an edgelord so of course I love him. I'm not a HUGE fan of the PTSD, trauma-bonding, stockholm thing he has going on with his born-hot-yesterday, slave, raccoon, damage dealer, daughter/ eventual-girlfriend... That sentence. Anime is weird. Just universally weird.

Ep 8 - OKAY! His goal isn't to improve the world's classism by getting just his two classmates into alpha class. It's to join alpha class and use that classism to enrage the nobility and force them to improve as well as inspiring the commoners.

Ep 8 - Another thought on the school's setup... Didn't they say there were 600 people being admitted to first year? Why have we only seen 2 classes of like 40 people? And if they have hundreds of students, then shouldn't they have more than just alpha and beta? Why not have two dozen classes?

Ep 2 - So I know that the whole point of this show is that the MC has to find a way to "fix" the classist society to make sure that people are educated based on merit rather than birth so they'll be able to do a better job defending the world when everything goes to shit in a few years.
