After Aliens finished up early last night, it seemed like a good opportunity to try out the newly arrived Shallow Regrets by @tettix.bsky.social - pleased to add another reliable, enjoyable and actually under 15 minutes game to the collection for exactly these occasions!

Final game of Aliens:AGDitC by @galeforcenine.bsky.social - mission 5: Sulaco!

With Ripley captured, Vasquez had to step into the Power Loader with support from Hudson, Apone, Ferro and Frost. Drake was sucked out the airlock, but they ejected the Queen in the end!

Final score: 21

Man, I had completely forgotten about the book on the right until seeing it now...

And Terror Below actually, haha...

Absolutely love Reichbusters, I'm interested to see how Monolith update it but am still happy with the Mythic original.

Ran some games of Cthulhu Death May Die for www.easthertsgamers.co.uk charity day for Mind (the mental health charity) which in hindsight may not have been entirely appropriate, but everybody had fun!

Saw some other great games being played, and also did quite well in the raffle!

There's an interesting narrative in the comic where he's chatting to Albert Einstein and it's implied they're just weaponising his sociopathic tendancies against the cultists, rather than any need to "do good". It's an interesting slant for the morally suspect characters in the game!

Such a great game - no excuses needed to get it out... Never thought I'd be able to say "Ernest Hemingway is one of my favourite characters" about anything!

#ArkhamHorror today, The Key and the Gate scenario!

First time dealing with the Silver Twilight Lodge (despite seeing them mentioned across the IP) this one had some interesting wrinkles along the way (without spoiling anything!) but wasn't too difficult for new investigators.

Played some solo Nemesis today, to try out the new 'constructs' pack and make some judgements on painting the miniatures.

Not sure I'm sold on the escape pods/engines/coordinate computer - they look great on the table but not sure they add anything apart from fiddliness...

My current #shelfies, post the great carpeting upheaval - I think this is happiest I've been with them in a while...

We won't discuss the Cupboard of Misfit Games™...

If you are referring to Reece Shearsmith you should watch some of his shows (League of Gentlemen, Pyschoville, Inside no.9) - they are quite something!

Another session of Aliens from @galeforcenine.bsky.social - mission 4: Retrieve

With Spunkmeyer standing in for Hicks, the group managed an escape. Frost killed an alien that burst through a door to nearly kill Newt, but sadly Ripley was captured by the Queen!

Total lost cards: 33

Unless you have beings who might climb or run into it, anchoring is not necessary if weight is distributed properly.

It would be most appropriate if it was freestanding (which is not accounted for).

I have different storage for oversized - I don't like the missing slats or trust the integrity.

Can't wait. Thank you for doing it, it has a special place in my heart.

Haven't played much of anything in the last few weeks due to covid, but have just moved all my boardgames into my office so the flooring can be redone downstairs.

Hoping that this gives me impetus to sort them properly and maybe move some on, but that's a later battle!

Haven't played it to make a comparison, but the combat in this game definitely sets it apart in the genre.

Got Auztralia to the table today - one of Martin Wallace's lesser known titles, but always great!

Definitely the most unusual Cthulhu themed game in my collection, and the only railway game - the action selection mechanism is excellent, with each action's time affecting turn order.

I picked them up a while ago as I'm not fond of the current Blood Bowl ones - when I actually get around to painting them is another matter entirely...

As much as I love the Marauder Troll Slayers, the Treeman is an icon...

Continuing Aliens: AGDitC by @galeforcenine.bsky.social with Mission 3: Survive!

Ripley managed to melee the facehuggers like an ultimate badass, before the dropship was called on turn 4. Unfortunately, Hicks got waylaid on approach to the exit and was killed.

Total cards lost: 23

Delighted to be mentioned at the beginning of the frankly excellent @thesecretcabal.bsky.social podcast's Lords of the Dungeon for pointing out archaic vulgarity in British slang purloined by an RPG setting - my ascendants would be proud! (or call me a berk, more likely...)
