If combat hugging, sapient pangolins, cosmic horrors, space battles, sapphic romance, & interstellar piracy sound interesting, good news! My new book has all that & more, & just came out today & the first 2 books in the series are free!

Saw the trailer and got big time "Clock Tower" vibes. It looks phenomenal!

It’s good! Goofy, strange, violent, tragic, funny, tons of heart, and very sincere. Well worth a watch.

Yo! I saw VHD and RC back-to-back (I wanna say Akira too). I think it was when Cartoon Network was first launching or something.

I saw Heavy Metal on late night MTV, I think. I was like, 12. Shit was wild.

Hey congratulations! Welcome to the world little guy!

I met some cranky guy from Chicago on there. He seems cool.

My modest success as a writer is thanks to social media. Plus I've met a lot of amazing folks who've expanded my worldview.

Social media today is kinda hellscape-y, yeah, but it doesn't have to be.

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

People are already (and have been) doing this for years on sites like Royal Road. While the quality can vary wildly (from absolute nonsense/AI slop to fun, original works that are well-written), I'd say that's to be expected for the modern incarnation of the old pulp magazines.

RPO doesn't have stats so it doesn't count. It'd be "Gamelit" rather than LitRPG. Dungeon Crawler Carl is getting an animated series, however.

Who’s ur favorite Jedi? (wrong answers only)
It’s Zero from MegaMan X wielding his laser sword

I write a modestly popular series if you’re curious.

Solo-Leveling is probably the most famous current example. The biggest Western example I can think of is Dungeon Crawler Carl.

Not typically, no. A LitRPG is a novel, but it's power/magic system is based around in-universe stat blocks. Characters get level-ups, get new skills, have measurable numerical values for strength, agility, etc. Sometimes it takes place in a game/VR (e.g. the Matrix) or in the real world.

No main characters I know of. My series has a trans man show up as an important side-character starting in the second book (though he doesn't specifically state he's trans until book 4).

Silksong and Hades 2 are amazing games. Phenomenal experiences. GotY is currently between them and Expedition 33 for me. I think unless some shocking new IP comes out before the end of the year, E33 wins it by juuuuust a hair.

What's a movie you went into blind and it completely blew you away? 🎥 🤯
A poster for the film "Edge of Tomorrow" featuring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in mech armor overlooking a burning battlefield. The tag line, "Live. Die. Repeat." is in the center of the poster.

Getting S-tier quality games like Silksong AND Hades 2 within a few weeks of each other is crazy.

It’s easy to do and let writing shift from “art” to just “work.” I walkways think of that Picasso (I think) quote about how every child is an artist but staying that way as you grow up is the hard bit. I’m paraphrasing and butchering the quote but it was something like that.

Hell yeah. "The power of friendship" trope can be the thing that makes me roll my eyes and throw a piece of media in the bin, or the thing that makes me weep like a child. I don't give a shit if it's been done before. I give a shit if it's done well.

These are just a handful I could find on BlueSky, but there are others who aren't here or who I'm sure I missed.
