Bikemap has added some neat features recently. Here’s from my normal route to work, most of which is on a mixed use path and then some neighborhood roads. They also have a heatmap touting option similar to Strava.
I like Bikemap for their routing options to weigh preferences for speed/directness versus comfort. Otherwise, I like the Strava heatmap to see what routes others take. Not the end all, but useful for identifying popular routes.
Went on a jog this morning after last night’s snow. It was amazing how quiet it was and how slow cars had to drive. If only our cities could be designed to make this the default.

The good news is a 3.5 miles stretch of the bike path in the first photo is scheduled to have concrete curbs added this summer. Fingers crossed that ends up happening!

Finally figured out neck and ear covers are essential for cold-weather bike commuting. Really enjoying the brisk air this time of year.

Totally agree with this, but I also think there’s a lack of acknowledgement of the contribution of terrible road design to how easy/encouraged terrible driving behaviors are. Better design could make it a lot harder to be reckless.
