Ugly? In a checkout line behind a women with a little boy eying the candy display. She looks at him, takes one and presents her SNAP card. The cashier checks, in Georgia it’s okay. Trust me the kid was getting the candy, but ugly is what we did to the mom, and the cashier, and to ourselves

This is flat out false. SNAP cannot be used for that. It’s not permitted under federal law and no states have an exemption for it.

By all measures, crime is continuing a several year down turn. You can verify with @jeffasher.bsky.social or with MPDC’s public data. It’s not “no crime,” but you’re safer in DC with no Guard than a 15 year old girl was working in the spa at Mar-A-Lago.

I’d like to see more granular analysis of what mediums deliver trusted information to people IRL. Could be “Fair Trade in Pork,” in Pork Belly Farmer is worth 5 Joe Rogans. Half the current analysis of what will make me give $10 might pay better returns-and be less annoying

Less “for” and “to” , more “with” would seem helpful. Less judgement of who benefits and delivery of benefits wanted. And, given Franken and Platner (so far), less self asphyxiation with the pearls. With all the tail winds and dire threats, the party of Wuss is not as Murrow noted, the party of us
