They're are very few statues of Brown, but MANY of Lee and his kkkonfederates.
We just recorded an interview with Brown's most prolific historian and Biographer, Dr. Lou DeCaro about a week ago. He began the interview with this point: "Before I talk about who John Brown was, I want to say who he wasn't..."

It was a great day.
And the media believed it.

They violent white supremacists went on to take up arms against the United States for the right to EXPAND their brutal system of enslavement westward and south into Mexico and South America.
He had ample opportunity to kill enslavers during plantation raids, but didn't. He freed people.

He handed out Bowie knives at a Black church in Springfield, MA so citizens could defend themselves from runaway slave law bounty hunters.

Southern racists defined Brown after they (Lee) hung him.
Brown's violence was defensive.
He is painted as being a terrorist and crazy, but that's baloney.

Even at Pottawatomie, where his men preemptively killed Border Ruffian terrorists, he was protecting his family in a lawless territory. The Ruffie were planning to kill the Browns, so he moved first.
Yes.
Slavery is terrorism. And rape.

Starting a war for the right to EXPAND that, which means genocide of indigenous people and expansion of rape farms, kills people fighting for it and against it.

Lee and southern enslavers killed 750,000 people just so they could get their ass kicked.
And a Civil War; just just hadn't invented the term yet.

Wow. You should try a word processor next time. MUCH faster.
Glad to hear you had the courage, brains, and resources to get out. Without all three, I imagine, it is difficult or unlikely.
It's great that they're setting so many precedents...
More compassionate than what, "not slavery?"

More compassionate than American chattel slavery?

Not sure I'd use the C-word, but I'm pretty sure when we (The United States) invented chattel slavery, we invented breeding operations, which is a polite way to say "r@pe farm."
