Whatever you think of Catch-22, Milo Minderbinder is one of the great, prescient creations by any author of that generation. Trump would easily rent out a USAF squadron to attack American assets, if he needed to cover losses in one of his real estate or crypto businesses. Or if Putin told him to.

It irks me when people call Trump stupid or deranged. He's completely outmanoeuvred the intentions of the founding fathers, the traditional Republican party, the Democratic party , major law firm, media groups, universities. If you can't see that, then Trump isn't the one who is stupid.

"Control" LOL! Trump doesn't want control. He's wants chaos. He wants violent confrontation between militia and protesters. He can seed the protesters with over-reactors who will burn police cars. THEN, he'll convince the military that they are needed in the cities. And 40% of Americans will cheer.

Eh, people tend to believe/follow the most charismatic leader. whether Obama or Trump. Dems need another one of those. All this messaging wonkery or attempts to re-connect with the base is a waste of time.

"Some" people? I'm probably twice your age, but when I slow down to use a walking pad, I'm averaging 3.2 mph. I'm all in favor of access ramps and such, but we can't completely rejig society to the inconvenience of the vast majority so that the tiny minority don't get all up in their feelings.

Yeah, if Trump REALLY wants to end this terrible war quickly, he should join North Korea, China and Iran in sending troops and military equipment to Russia. He can have US planes drop the bunker busters themselves.

I mean, why the hell not? Staying out of the war completely will just drag it out.

Successful politicking - pulling together a winning coalition of divergent groups - is not for the faint-hearted. Perhaps not even for the good.

Carter talked about the ethnic purity of the suburbs. Clinton had his Sista Soulja moment. Obama went after black fathers. They all won.
