I think most teachers love hearing from former students. Sometimes it helps to have an excuse, like "I noticed you just had an exhibit" or "I saw a recent article about the school's new program, congratulations" or something like that.

I think it would be fine to reach out, in a casual way. Make it a friendly letter about what you've been up to lately, and then ask about the jobs there.
