The Republican Party controls every branch of the federal government. Depite their false claims, nothing they've done this year has actually been about reducing debt or deficit. They have other agendas that can't be justified to the American people, so they lie about what they're doing and why.

With the exception of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it's the fastest accumulation of national debt in US history.

Republican lower court judges are campaigning for the next Supreme Court seat by falling over themselves to prove loyalty to Trump and letting him do whatever he wants. Nothing like this happens on the left, and it's a very noxious dynamic.
