From opening the new Bakewell Banking Hub, to raising rural voices at Chatsworth Country Fair, to discussing NHS access and border security, it’s been a packed couple of weeks across Derbyshire Dales and Westminster.

Last week was about meeting community groups, working with organisations to protect our heritage, supporting older residents, and protecting our environment:👇

It’s always an honour helping my constituents with solving the issues that affect them. Here are some of the wins I’ve secured recently.

From celebrating local award winners and meeting new childcare providers to listening to farmers, community groups and local leaders, last week was all about championing Derbyshire Dales and tackling the issues that matter most to you.

From poor mobile signal and bus access to the pressures facing rural services and local businesses, I heard directly from residents about the issues that matter most to them.

Thank you to everyone who met with me and to all who help keep Bradwell’s unique community spirit alive.

It was great to be in Bradwell last week to celebrate over 200 years of tradition at the Bradwell Well Dressing, meet with the Parish Council, and hold a constituency surgery.

From speaking up for children’s early years in Parliament to meeting young farmers, charities, and community groups across Derbyshire Dales, last week was all about listening to local voices and standing up for those working hard to support others.

As your MP, I’ve seen first-hand just how vital these services are in our communities. I’m proud to support this Labour Government’s commitment to dignified, compassionate end-of-life care.

This is the largest ever investment in hospices, and it will make a real difference to patients and families at the hardest of times.

I'm really pleased to share that Ashgate Hospice, Blythe House, and Treetops Hospice, all of which support residents here in Derbyshire Dales, will receive a share of £75 million in Government funding.

People across Derbyshire Dales are already doing their bit, and I’m glad this Labour Government is determined to match that ambition.

Thank you to everyone who made the journey to Westminster to stand up for a fairer, greener future.

I was pleased to meet constituents in Parliament as part of The Climate Coalition’s #ActNowChangeForever lobby.

We spoke about the urgent need for action to tackle climate change, restore nature, and invest in green jobs and sustainable farming.

This situation is regularly raised by concerned residents. I’ll keep pressing for long-term solutions to fix NHS dentistry and ensure fair access for rural communities.

I met with Eddie Crouch, Chair of the British Dental Association, to discuss the NHS dental crisis nationally, and locally.

Practices across Derbyshire Dales are closing their NHS lists, or going fully private, leaving many residents unable to access routine care.

It’s time football gave back to the heroes who made the game what it is.

I’m especially grateful to my constituent, former Arsenal and Leeds goalkeeper John Lukic, for raising the issue of CTE – Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy – a devastating, progressive brain disease affecting far too many ex-players.

This week in Parliament, I spoke in support of new Clause 13 and Amendment 29 (Football Governance Bill).

We need to better protect former footballers living with dementia caused by heading the ball.

Having attended one of their meetings, I’ve seen first-hand just how important this safe space is for so many.

Thank you to the team for all you do. Proud to support your work both in the community and in Parliament.

It was great to welcome Tough Enough to Care to Parliament for a catch-up.

Tough Enough to Care is the fantastic men’s mental health charity based in Wirksworth. The group’s mission to break down the stigma around men opening up about mental health is life-changing and, in many cases, life-saving.

Just a few of the ways my team and I have been helping residents across Derbyshire Dales.

On this day in 2005, the lives of so many were tragically lost, or changed forever, by the 7/7 attacks in London.

We honour the memory of those who died, the bravery of the emergency services, and the strength of survivors.

This is a fantastic recognition of your dedication to creating high-quality and affordable accommodation for those in the community that are otherwise unable to afford the market rent.

Well done to everyone involved. Wirksworth – and the entire Derbyshire Dales – is proud of you!
