Glad you’re looked after. I try to not remind mine that I exist 🙃

Thousands of job losses I guess is the reason. It really irks me that we pay for all of the various marketing departments, offices etc. of all these krankenkassen wherein none of the workers do a single thing to improve our health. Awful. Best not to think about it I suppose.

Would’ve been so much better if it was where they’d made Nazis fight bears (no weapons, one on one, naked)

I have not once engaged with a part of the healthcare bureaucracy in this country that I think makes sense. So much of it is keeping people in pointless jobs, which is why it is eye-wateringly expensive.

Berlin’s Nazi-era bear pit saw live bears on display in a public park until 2015. The Bärenzwinger opened in 1939 with four bears, was damaged in the war, and rebuilt in 1949. When the last bear, Schnute, died in 2015 the former pit was converted into an art space.

Nice day out in Potsdam. The ‘Roman ruins’ in the distance are a folly masking a reservoir. Water was supposed to flow from there into the fountains of the Sans Souci gardens, which didn’t really work. A pumping station (designed to look like a mosque) was later built to solve the problem.

Oh nice one, but as always I'm in a rush. No time for coordination of that sort, much too quick and freewheeling for this town haha

This is for YouTube, so some of that stuff I haven't quite covered yet. Original Volkskammer is on the list!

Prepping my next long format video about some lost East Berlin buildings. Chaos! Realised I’m doing this on what was Tag der Republik in the GDR.

Never knew the Dom had its very own Filth Wizard!

Also just feel that once the planning is done, my brain is done. Next topic time!

Anyone else in a creative field - it's always like this, right? The ideas and planning stage is always more exciting than the execution

The leaves are turning and Berlin’s cemeteries are reaching their peak prettiness. If you’ve never been to visit the dead commies in Zentralfriedhof Friedrichsfelde, now is the time to do it.

Last year Pip and I put together this guide. Follow along with the post or stick us in your ears!

Apologies to those who have seen this before, but here is the pic I took in 1960, three weeks before much of the station was demolished.
