I struggle with watching portrayals of dementia in TV shows. It is hardly ever anything like what I experienced with my dad. I know that it can look different in different people (it was totally different for my grandma than my dad) but the TV portrayal always feels simplistic.
There's something about reading a used book. It stays open more easily, the pages are softer, it feels cozier in your hands.
The kids and I had lunch at an Italian restaurant yesterday where all of our meals were sprinkled with parmesan, without our consent. 8 refused to eat the buttered pasta and I had to ask for a new one, without the cheese. 12 grudgingly ate half of her pizza, grimacing. Not cool.
Mistake 1: Took water bottle home to wash out well over the weekend and forgot to bring it back today. (also, haven't actually washed it)
Mistake 2: Brought leftovers to work in the aluminum container and we only have a microwave to warm stuff. Sigh.

You know what's frustrating? Knowing your kid did this whole big project because she showed it to you last night and it was done, but then you get an email from the teacher in the morning saying she still hasn't submitted it, and if it's not in by 8:10am, it will be marked late.
I feel like I'm finally getting back to my normal self after last week's cold. Wasn't falling asleep on the drive to work today, so yay!
One teacher on my floor does a call and response with the kids that goes "All Set?" "You Bet!" Another, across the hall from her, does "Ba da ba ba ba..." "I'm lovin' it!" Which one do you think you'd prefer? Just out of curiosity. The kids like both.
Yes, I know there were. BUT the thing is that, it wasn't a total blackout where nothing worked. I was still getting claps and comments, but nothing was registering in the stats. And I wonder if they are going to be able to fix that or not.
I know you've all left Medium by now and aren't dealing with these issues, but I'm going to complain for just a minute. They've had page loading problems lately, where the pages just don't work, which, of course, cuts into people being able to read. And now stats show nothing at all for the day!

Blowing out the smoke, he stared at her smug grin. She seemed to love having this power over him, having him interested in something she was saying. He probably didn’t give her that satisfaction often enough.

The soft comfort of his palms caressing her skin was hypnotic. He roamed her body, and she couldn’t pinpoint exactly when he had opened the sheet she had been covered with and introduced a warming oil. Sofia wasn’t sure where her inhibitions went...

I feel like I'm the last person still writing on Medium.
Once we made it to the bedroom, he would lay that towel down on the bed and fuck me on it, either from behind or in a missionary position. But outside this room, there was always so much flirting, and dirty talk, and playing around.

People were making out, there were people on their knees in front of others, their heads blocking the crotch area, and there were others outright banging, right in the open!

The sight drenched her panties.

“So,” he started as he broke away from her lips. “What other dirty things did you want to do for me?”

She couldn’t speak. There was no way that she could explain in words exactly how willing and eager she was. So instead, she just dropped to her knees.
