It's the poorest Americans who go without food in this long shutdown. USDA sent warnings to some states that food stamps will not be funded for November. WIC (a program feeding women, infants, and kids) is running out of funds too.

Attention parents: if you child eats school meals, beware! There is a suspected Listeria contamination in breakfast burritos and wraps. MCI Foods has recalled 91,585 pounds of breakfast products, but they are already stacked in school (and store and home) freezers.
