... on its harness that gets people to ride on its body which extends to get more and more and more people to sit and then once it has enough it just darts in the forest and the people who sat on it are lost forever. Seemingly eaten or something, there's so many of those kelpie-likes it's shocking

That's why i like to consider them their own "separate species/breeds" so to speak. It's like how the kelpie has like more than one hundred cousins. Like here in the north of the métropole we have the "Ech Gobelin" which is a white, slightly horse looking mammal with a extendable body and bells ...

Oh i've done quite a lot of research on our mythological monsters -w-
1 Loup-Garou, standard however more often than not they control they are said to be able to control their transformation

... and you get much stronger than a werewolf. You are invicible, not ever silver harms you, holy water only repulses you and you can set things on fire by looking at them. A mark appears on your body and if somebody knows that you're a Voirloup you can "teleport" at night to that person to kill it.
