Is it because you can't set the boot order in the BIOS? That's the main issue I have, trying to work out what key to press to get into BIOS and change it (F2? F7? F8? Del? F10? F11? F12 ...)

Exactly: my HP issues were all just because they force you to agree to a EULA and they keep their drivers proprietary. If they were open source I wouldn't; have needed to do anything expect turn on the printer! Whereas my Brother printer works seamlessly (over WiFi).

Yep, I ran it in a live session and quite liked it, when I was starting out. But I try to avoid distro-hopping, as I know my way so comfortably around Mint Cinnamon now! Even got HP printers running for family over a phone call this morning, despite the hurdles HP put in the way. :-)
