The Victorian LNP’s vow to repeal Treaty is an attack on First Peoples’ right to self-determination.

We’ve seen similar hostile attacks from the LNP on truth telling in QLD.

The Greens will always work with community towards truth, treaty, justice and reparations.

Definitely not. There is a compensation system for affected businesses who can prove they've lost income, but that's extremely limited.

Albert Park is a public space, not a corporate paddock.

The Greens will continue to stand with local residents and community groups who have fought against this corporate takeover for decades. (2/2)

Labor & the Liberals have teamed up to put corporate interests ahead of the community, by tripling the Grand Prix's lockout period of Albert Park.

This betrayal effectively locks local park users, community orgs & sports clubs out of Albert Park for nearly a month each year. (1/2)

Another unacceptable, totally preventable death in custody.

Substance abuse and mental health episodes should be met with a care-first public health response, not punitive policing that escalates and ends in tragedy.

Being in distress should not be a death sentence.
Man dies at Merri train station after being handcuffed by PSOs
The 63-year-old man appeared “substance affected”, police say, and lost consciousness on Friday night.

Swapping car trips for bike trips is a great way to save money & reduce emissions. All levels of govt should be providing protected infrastructure so people can get around safely & comfortably.

Absolutely beautiful #dayforit in Melbourne for #Ride2Work day today! If you forgot this morning, it looks like you'll have a gorgeous evening to get on the bike after work ☀️🚲

Youth detention pushes kids under 14 towards more serious offending and adult crime. And First Nations children are disproportionately incarcerated as a result of racism and over-policing in our justice system.

Kids need support, not prison. #RaiseTheAge to 14.

Victoria raised the age of criminal responsibility to 12 last week.

It’s a step forward in keeping kids out of the justice system but to truly start to fix our broken justice system we must follow the evidence and #RaiseTheAge to 14.

Investments at Sunshine Station to enable Airport Rail and future Melton electrification are very welcome, but it’s concerning to hear that the project might sever a crucial freight link.

We need more freight on rail, so Labor must ensure we have the infrastructure to enable it.

Great to be out in Prahran yesterday, talking with the community about the issues that matter most to them. Thank you to everyone who took time to chat with us!

Labor's support for coal and gas ends up costing us all.

A headline from The Guardian on 7 October 2025, reading "At $4.5bn each year, extreme weather is costing Australia three times as much compared with 1990s, insurers say." We need to build, not demolish public housing and urgently introduce rent controls.

Meanwhile, Labor's solution to the housing crisis is to demolish all the public housing towers in the state and lock renters into unlimited rent increases.

And their 5% deposit scheme will be sure to send house prices skyrocketing and lock first home buyers into debt they can't afford.

The number of applications for public and community housing is up by 7% in the last year.

80% of landlords raised the rent in the past two years with an average increase of 17%.

This has gotten seriously out of control - for all of Labor’s big numbers and big announcements, their response to the housing crisis has done nothing but line the pockets of property developers and push more and more people into housing stress and homelessness.

Did you know the biggest shareholders of the big 4 banks are 2 multi-trillion $ American investment companies, Blackrock & Vanguard? These companies are individually worth 10x the GDP of Australia - an unfathomable amount of money.
Tile decorated with images of the tops of skyscrapers with the Big 4 bank logos, and money. Also a vomiting emoji in the top right. Text reading "Where do big bank profits go?" and below this "Your loan repayments". Tile with text reading "Major [big 4 bank logos] shareholders:
[BlackRock's logo] is worth $12.5 trillion, [Vanguard's logo] is worth $11 trillion.
Australia's entire GDP is 1.8 trillion btw..."
Decorative image of the American flag at the bottom. Tile with text reading "Labor, tax the big banks and
build schools
build hospitals
build transport
build the things we need instead of lining pockets in America."
Decorative emojis of a school, a hospital and a train at a station.

It was devastating to visit the spot where a young cyclist was killed in Kensington on Monday.

My heart goes out to this man's family.

People shouldn't have to risk their lives just to get around the city on their bike. We need safer bike lanes right across our city.

Cycling is a cheap way to get around, and it reduces congestion and carbon emissions - a win for everyone.

I recently raised some of the City of Boroondara's cycling priorities with the Minister - hopefully the different levels of government can work together to provide quality links.

Commissioner Brereton told the public and parliament that his position with Defence was entirely honourary, now we know that is not true, that he is part of a chain of advice to Ministers and Defence.
