Tip - if you're doing cuff-down, make 1/2 the 1st socks stitches, all the 2nd, then go back & put the rest of the 1st sock stitches on. I figured that out the hard way 🤣

Try putting 2 socks on and doing them together - a great way to make sure they are both the same. I never knit socks 1 at a time now. I even do sleeves in pairs that way where I can!

I just have a crush on sock knitting atm! One pair off the needles an hour ago, ends woven in (DK/sport weight). Two pairs on the needle....

#knitting I have some aran wool - enough to make a nice sweater, but I have 3 different colours so I'd need to think hard about design. Is it bad that I'm thinking a few pairs of long socks instead?

Bit of bad news, I can't finish these socks. This is an issue I've had with this yarn before, weight is fine (85g) but length is wrong so I'm going to run out. Cba ripping them back and shortening, plus I don't want short socks. Have some sport weight so I'll use that. Ah well. #knitting

3 pairs of long socks. A fawn pair (DK)with cable pattern to the back and eyelet pattern at front. Middle pair (4ply) shows a lady holding blossoms, knitted in black and grey. Last pair (worsted) have a cream base with motifs in blue and grey.

I have done many socks from this, including 'cherry blossom time' - I will have to post them. I do have to tweak the sizings but haven't had issues doing so. These need to go down 2 sizes so I'll probably skip the last 'wave'. I also have another pair on my needles right now... ooops!

#showmeyourknits I'm at that point where I want to grab some googly eyes and a couple of pink tongues! These are knitting up so quickly for a ribbed sock and they are so thick, great for winter house socks. Not sure I can get dress boots on with them, maybe hiking boots.

Not been fan of Argos (UK retailer) for ages. Just got too £££'s & customer service lacking. Roll on 15+ years and they had best deal for new washing machine. Price-matched, but included delivery & recycle (=decent saving). Chaps arrived at 7am & unexpectedly fitted the new one! Get in!!
