Views from across the spectrum with a focus on KY; the impacts our legislators have had on the nation and the KY press apparatus' abject failure to adequately inform their readers on critical issues. We stand at the precipice they helped create. Not a bot.

IANAL, but these orders seem worthless with nobody enforcing them.
kbgpolitics.bsky.social
Honest Question: who's going to enforce it?

She NEEDS to be reminded that while Richard Milhous Nixon did not have to spend time in prison, his Attorney General, John N. Mitchell... DID.

I've read she was later released? After showing her "papers"?

Dearest Mikey,

I hope you enjoy this photograph of the legendary Johnny Cash. If he were still with us, you have to know he'd be giving it to you in person. That's just who he was.

Who is Carl Schmitt, the authoritarian political theorist that the New Right and the Neocons are obsessed with?
before being the obsession of
peter thiel and every favourite
podcaster of your incel cousin,
schmitt was the jurist who
came up with the theoretical
legal foundation for the
nazi party's power grab and
subsequent atrocities.
he wrote: "sovereign is he who
decides on the exception." he
believed that constitutional
democracies were facades for
the total power of the execu-
tive, since the legislative was
powerless during exceptional
times.
schmitt also wrote about
the friend-enemy distinction,
which he saw as the basis of
the politic. people are sorted
into groups, either with you or
against you, in a struggle for
survival. big incel vibes, I know.
in his view, liberalism
challenged that "natural order"
by restricting the power of
the executive and by easing
the distinctions with enemy
groups, which he thought led
to social paralysis and
racial decay.

I could see a future where the kids who've had to endure this brutality of having their parents disappeared, will come back after entering adulthood and track down the ppl who did this to them.

Well. Our large newspaper in Lexington is owned by the same ppl who own the National Enquirer, if that's any help. 😏

Politeness did not win World War 2. Being nice did not defeat the fascists of the era. Likewise with sternly worded letters.

That reminds me. The German NAZI Party loved to make propaganda films too and had crews following them around.

I call this "shit our newspapers won't touch with a ten foot pole"

Portland? Chicago? Fuck that. There are plenty of places I could take you to here in rural Kentucky less than an hours drive that I'd never visit, day or night. And I'm a white dude.

A war zone that comes with its own dance party. That's a new one on me.

A local public radio station just stopped carrying BBC news broadcasts in favor of those NYT, The Daily podcasts.

*facepalm*

That's a great, comical way to deflate their claims that Portland is "war ravaged. I love it.

Thank #MoscowMitch McConnell. And the press back in KY who let him get away with it.

Just what we needed. Another billionaire backed candidate. More of the same; the wealthy buying politicians to destroy Democracy. No. Thank. You.
