Last time on The Lowdown on the Plus-Up we invented a theme park based on Ray Bradbury's writings. This week, we invited a Ray Bradbury expert to tell us the reality of the relationship between the great writer and theme parks, Walt Disney, and lots more!
Dr. Phil Nichols joins us!

The textual analysis is REALLY strong, though. Livingston's family believes that he wrote it. It sounds like Livingston's writing and Moore never wrote anything even remotely similar in tone.
Moore's writing was severe.
I don't know for sure if Livingston wrote it, but I don't think Moore did.
You'll get no argument from me. In fact, you might get a delightful little gopher dance in celebration!
With AWS knocking out half the internet earlier, I thought I'd hit this again...

In 1937 Orson Welles read a poem live on the radio, Though few people recall the event now, it changed everything.

One of the more cruel things I've seen from the Republican Party has been Republican Governors refusing to expand Medicaid deliberately to make the ACA look like a failure.
I have family in Texas that completely lost their health care because of it.

Busy doing what? Not assembling the House or swearing in elected representatives?
I'm fascinated by this phenomenon. "No Tron movie has ever made a profit, but here's an idea... Let's do one that's NOT in the videogame world and cast Jared Leto!"
And then more than one other person must have agreed with this idea.
A couple of errata for this ep of The Lowdown on the Plus-Up:
Bradbury's book about the making of "Moby-Dick" is "Green Shadows, White Whale."
We mispronounced an Imagineer's name; it's Joe LanZISero.)
The story that made Marta Becket famous was in National Geographic, not Time or Life.
Mea Culpa.
We talk about Marta Becket quite a bit in our new episode: Here's Ray Bradbury talking about her, too!

That is 100% true.
Also, have you ever seen Phil Collins and Charlie Brown at the same place at the same time?

A friend of mine described the current President as "the best example of all the worst qualities that Americans seem to admire."
