being mexican american was so crazy as a kid in Minnesota. My teachers treated my mom as a novelty and was invited to teach Spanish once a week and I was so confused that different languages existed. to me all words ever were just synonyms. like wym my mom had to explain ‘comida’ like don’t you eat
