1. Why I'm here:
I don’t actually want a lot of followers, like I just want a little bubble of only people who like me and are on the same page as me bc I am an outcast in almost every other space I exist in. Idc if it’s ignorant or whatever you want to call it, I just want *one* safe and social space for me
I always felt kind of bad for the kid, like I'm sure it was mostly the parents, I totally wouldn't want to come to KS under those circumstances...
This whole case brought flashbacks to when there was a similar case where KS would admit the student if they dropped the suit. The student was in the class below me and I remember they pulled the whole middle school into an anti-bullying assembly about being pono & welcoming the non-Hawaiian student

We're seeing lots of headlines about the catastrophic impact of massive data center expansion. But what else could data centers look like?

In my perpetual quest to seek out alternative technofutures, I want to highlight the really cool work of Keolu Fox.

This might be the first of many therapists I actually like
Me: when someone likes me, I get The Ick and am turned off to them
Therapist: describe The Ick
M: like I get grossed out
T: like eww there’s poop on the ground gross
M: yes
T: so you think it’s gross when someone likes you…
Me:…yes…
Feeling fucking insane bc our principal said we have grant money for a pizza oven so I said, "We can build it for science class, they can learn about engineering design and stuff!" and now I gotta learn how to pour a fucking concrete foundation
I just saw a tiktok where someone said they were trying on “*historically accurate* 90s low-rise jeans” lmaooooo
Some students told me I’m their favorite teacher and I’m choosing to believe it and pretend it’s not because the next 3 days are parent-teacher conferences lol
It’s parents, right? They help them?
I know people with like 4/5 kids and they own their home and only one parent works and like how in this fucking place? I also work, but I can’t ever possibly imagine owning a home.
A student gave me a dead hummingbird moth. They know me so well 🥲
Lol I love peer grading/feedback. sometimes I do self grading but i have them justify it with reflection questions lol
Just happened to be walking in the same direction as a rooster and he kept looking back at me nervously like, why are you following me?!
i enjoy grading handwritten stuff way more too honestly. Plus it’s faster lol. But I’ve gotten so accustomed to do everything online now. Wondering if I should switch back
The labyrinth is great but the immersion stops at the goblin king being named “Jareth”
I'm grading/giving feedback to over 100 students a week. If I'm also prepping my worksheets/lectures/etc. then I'm more likely to just mark things wrong with short feedback as opposed to providing more detailed explanations, which I prefer to do.
I can get that, but as an instructor, I reuse curriculum (tweaking as I go) because it gives me more time to focus on providing more thorough feedback to students. If I have no curriculum, I'm spending majority of my time creating that and I don't feel like I have enough time to help students
Genuine question, is it more wasteful/harmful to print out worksheets for students to do or to just have them do it online? What about printing/making laminated templates that students use every year, then they just write/type out their answers on their own paper/doc?
oh no! I hope you feel better soon!

I am so sick of the data economy
“At toilet time, you sign in via a fingerprint sensor so that the device knows who's using the facilities. (Please wash your hands before signing out or tracking your progress.) Then, check in with the app for the day's analysis and trends over time.”

AI needs fascism, and fascism needs AI.

We have to fight this nexus of Big Tech and the fascist regime.

Together they’ve formed a deadly alliance against democracy, and against the working class.

My sister still expects me to pay for everything, like come on, you are a single adult with a job who lives at home and pays no rent!

Anyways, yes, I paid. Must be nice to be the baby lol.
My sister and I have been wanting to get a matching tattoo for years but our tastes are so different. We aaaaalmost aligned tonight when I said some kind of skeleton then we simultaneously went:

Her: a dinosaur fossil
Me: a skeleton dancing goofily

Her: damn. So close 😂
