I want to share beautiful news with you: I’m getting married! You may think getting married in a war zone after two years of genocide is crazy: I think it’s the most normal, beautiful and happy thing to do.

If you can help me make it a success and a celebration of love, solidarity and steadfastness, in the middle of a genocide, please donate, or share. I have only 3 weeks to gather all I need.

Thanks to my friends’ beautiful generosity, I’ve already gathered €440. Any amount helps, even €5 will bring me closer to the love and joy celebration of our dreams.
To make this wedding a success, I need to pay the dowry for my fiancée’s family, to buy food for everyone, to rent out the celebration room, and to get a beautiful outfit so that people notice me even if all eyes will definitely be on the bride.
You will see how beautiful the bride and groom are, our mothers resplendent with joy, the cute children, you may see people dancing dabke, and I’ll share the recipes for the traditional dishes we share on the day.
I would love it if you, my friends from Blue Sky, could attend the wedding, and I plan to share as many photos and videos with you as possible, so you can experience a traditional Palestinian wedding like if you were with us, and I can share my joy and my love with you.
I don’t want to have an extravagant wedding with several hundreds of people, I can’t afford it anyway. We’re planning to have my closest family, friends, and my fiancee’s loved ones. This should be fifty people altogether.
Good evening everyone 🌕 I hope you had a beautiful day! This is Khaled, 21 years old, from Rafah, #Gaza, #Palestine. Earlier today, I shared the news that I got engaged and I’m getting married very soon!

I’m planning to get married in a few weeks, before the end of November.
Thank you for sharing my dear ♥️🙏 I hope my wedding is a beautiful one.

Where is the humanity? Where are those who can do something about it, amidst all this suffering we endure, despite the ceasefire? Don’t they see the violations Israel is committing, leaving us to starve?

Even though they say there's a ceasefire, all prices are extremely high due to scarcity. The occupation has tightened its grip on Gaza, preventing aid and goods from entering. Only limited quantities are allowed in, barely enough for a few.

Then I saw someone selling meat. I asked about a kilo of frozen meat, and he said it cost 90 shekels (30 American dollars). One kilo of chicken costs 75 shekels per kilo (25 American dollars).

Let's say my family and I want to eat fish; one kilo isn't enough for my family. We are 19 people, so we need around 5 kilos. Do you know how much that would cost? 650 shekels, which is more than 200 American dollars. We can't even afford to eat it because of the price.

I asked him why the price was so high, and he told me they can't fish in the sea because the occupation is tightening its grip on the fishermen. I was shocked by the price of one kilo of fish.

To give you an idea, the average income for a middle class family in Gaza before October 2023 was 250 American dollars per month.

The occupation boats were everywhere, preventing anyone from approaching. The siege on the sea is very tight.

As I was leaving the beach, I saw someone selling fish and asked him the price. He told me it was 130 shekels per kilo (40 American dollars), which is very expensive.
