phel will hide away in the wilderness; forests or mountainous areas are where he feels safest, even better if it has a view. being away from everyone and alone in nature helps him process his thoughts better. if that's not available, just an inn room to himself with the lights off ;w;

on his back, as initiation into the wood-warders. like the moon is literally watching over them, and as a symbol of dedication to their faith.

phel's makeup paint holds for a few days at a time, even after bathing; when it wears off enough, he washes & reapplies it during nightly prayer.

aphelios & alune's face paint is related to their veena clan's moon worship; similar to moon cats, they believe it holds lunar powers, but is also a sign of their devotion. there's no standard design, just celestial shapes + purples or whites!

it's not so much that he has difficulty expressing himself, rather, he doesn't want to draw attention to himself. his wood-warder days were during the garlemald (attempted) invasion of skatay, so he had to keep himself in check all the freaking time 😔

because he feels things so intensly (and is hyper empathetic), phel learned from a young age how to tamper himself down. bc of this, he tends to express himself via actions or acts of service. but his viera ears can also indicate how he's feeling; hard to suppress natural instincts lol

the eczema lotions last for a little bit and do help, but like any other lotion i try, it eventually wears off after a couple hours lmfaoooooo so i'm back where i started 💀

cold weather pros: my body is no longer constantly overheating and can kind of regulate its temperature 😃👍👌🥳👏

cold weather cons: my eczema flares so bad on my hands that no amount of lotion will help (not even the eczema ones) 😢😭👎💀🤒

(vague endwalker spoilers) he was basically living dead'ing his whole way through you-know-who's fight at the very end, despite using reaper. dynamis helped, but no wonder he almost ended up dead for real afterward 💀 took him a good while to be able to properly tank again ;w;

phel has a low pain threshold but a high pain tolerance, so living dead is scarily accurate for what happens to him lol. he does need that healing afterwards tho or he *will* pass out from overexertion. DRK+GNB are his only canon tank classes, but that's how his GNB one is too 🔥 (no superbolide!)

phel feels very deeply, and tends to keep his emotions pushed down/in check; however, his (viera) ears are one of his big tells. if you know his body language, you can get an idea of what he's feeling.

it takes a lot for him to not just look vacant, so seeing expressions on him is pretty big!

he actually doesn't mind bitter/sour foods, not his favorite ofc, but he won't shy away from them!

phel loooves savory and a little bit of sweetness, but nothing too rich! he grew up with fairly bland foods (foraging/hunting), so spices are a little hard on him, but he's warmed up (heh) to a few dishes. he just has to be careful!

he has one main bag with all of his supplies, and then a few little pouches on his person with stuff he immediately needs on hand. bandages, gauze, a hidden knife/dagger, pre-charged crystals for when he needs to use aether in an emergency and can't rely on alune (he has a deficiency)

phel packs more on the practical side: rations, travel gear, medicine/first aid, combat supplies. a field journal too that he's always writing in. but he does have a few sentimental knick knacks, and always has some freshly foraged herbs/veggies/etc to munch on! it's as organized as he can manage 😂
