Hasn’t Hegseth talked about bringing more troops back from overseas deployments? I assumed that was for state deployments. As to their mission, probably more ICE-type expansion of apprehensions or interfering with elections/polling place operations. Whatever the reason it won’t be good.

I saw the writing on the wall back in the 80’s when all those televangelists got obscenely wealthy while convincing poor people to send them more money so they could save their souls. The “moral majority” seems to be anything but that.
“Stands out for his monomania.” Oh for god’s sake people make up your minds. Every election we hear the economy is the #1 issue & that Democratic messaging doesn’t always connect because it’s too diluted. Mamdani being laser focused on affordability seems to be saying “message received.”
But uninspiring, uninteresting, boring candidates don’t exactly drive voter turnout. It’s clear pundits enjoy telling Democrats their success depends on nominating safe, boring candidates while they simultaneously warn that the centrist Dem NJ Gov candidate often labeled as boring is in a MOE race.
This on the same day politico does a piece that Democrats have to stop falling for charismatic newcomers if they hope to regain power. So can’t be boring but can’t be inspiring. Apparently no candidates Democrats select will meet with pundit approval.
Also these two Republican judges were Trump appointees. Maybe not every Republican in the pool would be as draconian in their interpretation of executive power.

By the time next October rolls around, Trump may have bombed Venezuela & Columbia & escalated his war against U.S. cities pre-midterms. Middle East peace will then be a distant memory and sadly, probably non-existent. Would be embarrassing if the committee awarded him a peace prize at that point.
Yeah, and I heard a democratic strategist named Don Calloway on MSNBC say Democrats are losing the messaging war and just will have to give in, take the hit on healthcare & pivot to the midterms. So appears the bat signal has gone out that Democrats must cave but somehow hope it pays off in a year.
