Today's wrestling magazine thread of the day is the February 1987 issue of Wrestling Scene! I don't think putting Carlos Colon on the cover was a good sales strategy but Carlos vs Abby is a Top 3 feud of the 80s so I'm also cool with it.

I haven't gotten too far into it but it's not working for me. I don't really care that much though as I have fun playing it. I feel like Hades did the idea much, much better and that wasn't like SUPER SERIOUS either.

Honestly what made me play it was reading people trash it as a "Breath of the Wild clone" which seems like a *good* thing to copy to me. It definitely has a lot of similarities but is different enough to me to avoid being a straight up 'clone.'

I have been playing Immortals Fenyx Rising through PC Game Pass lately and really like it. It's probably a 7/10 game that had the potential to be a 9/10 but they cooked it wrong. The story and characters are way too goofy but the gameplay is very fun.

Gordon was basically checked out by the time he got to Continental. I understand why Ron Fuller wanted to make the change because it would seem like an upgrade but I think Charlie Platt & Ric Stuart together would have been better. Or Charlie and Les Thatcher.

I'm on the other side. I like the studio version better. I just like studio wrestling and I don't particularly care for Gordon in Continental even if I like him in Florida & Georgia.

@krisplettuce.bsky.social I think I like Continental a lot better than the Southeastern promotion from whence it came. The production values are better and it has Gordon Solie on commentary.

Ok, so the other big question is: When to schedule it? I have an idea of 'Watch Something Different Wednesdays' where it could be scheduled for 10:05 PM Turner Time after Dynamite goes off the air. I am also open to other suggestions.

In the long run, I don't think our society has benefited at all, and in fact has been harmed by, the ever increasing amount of money we spend on healthcare for people 70 and older. Too much of the productive population are changing diapers and reminding people of their names.
