The donor match ends tonight; hope doesn’t. It’s the final day to get your gift matched at 50%, but your care for these chicks can continue long after the match ends. We’re so moved by the penguin love. We'll let you know how they're doing.

Donate: www.krushanfoundation.org/donations/
High impact giving. A 50% match through October 25. A favorable exchange rate. 32 abandoned African penguin chicks, each a future parent to at least 45 more African penguins. That's a lot of multipliers.

Fuel the future with one powerful gift. 💙

Wads didn’t want to share. He’s a penguin, not a podcast guest. He did it for the chicks. Grumpy. Low-key legendary. Reluctantly open. 🐧

Read Waddlesworth Gets Real in bio.

Do you have a question for Wads? Let us know in the comments.

Each chick can raise at least 45 African penguins over its lifetime. We're not just saving these chicks, we're securing the future of the species.
Help us feed, heal, and release these tiny legends.
Every dollar=penguin power.

This is what our partners do. They put African penguins first. This is what genuine collaboration and principled partnership look like: no ego, no turf wars, just deep respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to species survival. #NotBy2035 #birds #conservation #penguins
When you donate, we'll let you know exactly how your donation, plus the 50% match, will support these furry babies and the number of lives you're changing. We'll also let you know when these chicks are reunited with their families.

32 tiny survivors need us. Through October 25, a generous sponsor will match 50% of every donation up to $5,000, helping us turn heartbreak into hope. Give an African penguin chick the chance to return home. Donate link in bio.

Emergency chick rescue. 32 African penguins. Launching tomorrow. The timing’s rough. If you’re tempted to say “Go Fund Yourselves,” we get it. But if you can give, we’ve got a 50% match ready to increase your impact. No guilt. No pressure. Just penguins, people, and a whole lot of 💙.
It’s International African Penguin Awareness Day.

They’re not just cute. They’re climate indicators. Ocean storytellers. Canary-in-the-coal-mine types, but with flippers.

Their decline reflects broken systems that reach us all, whether you’re in Cape Town or Kansas.

A great loss, but what a life. Thank you, Jane. We honor your legacy of science, environmental conservation, and hope.

This Saturday in Austin: #penguins, purpose, and a whole lot of “wait… seriously?” moments. We’re bringing the story of Africa’s endangered penguins to the library joyfully, urgently, community-powered, and full of heart. Come curious. Leave squadified. #atx #NotBy2035 #BirdsWithAttitude #ATXEvents
“Saving one bird won’t change the world…”

But it will change the world for that one bird.

While KruShan Foundation focuses on protecting critically endangered African penguins, that doesn't mean we lack love for other animals--our very spoiled Maltese, Tiberius (named after Captain Kirk's (#StarTrek) middle name). 🖖 It's his house, and we just get to live here. #NationalDogDay #DogLovers
Penguin metabolism. African penguins eat about 14% of their body weight, or up to 21 pounds of fish, a day. If we did that, we’d eat:

84 tacos, or
3 Thanksgiving dinners, or
1 very regrettable all-you-can-eat buffet visit
All in one day
And they still waddle like champs.

How tall is an African penguin? About two feet; think toddler in a tux. And like toddlers, they’re feisty, pint-sized powerhouses bursting with personality. They may be half the height of an Emperor penguin, but they’ve got double the charm. Every inch is worth protecting.

Even if you’re landlocked, marine protected areas (MPAs) matter.

🌀 They stabilize our climate by absorbing carbon. 🧼 They produce over half our oxygen and filter pollutants. 🍽️ They feed us 🐧 They protect species and habitats we all cherish.

Got a favorite ocean memory?

Sonny came to our African penguin presentation on Wednesday night—and let's just say, his passion for penguins was impossible to miss! 🐧💙
Sporting a shirt that proudly proclaimed his love for the coolest birds around, Sonny gifted us his hand-drawn penguin masterpiece.
Thank you, Sonny!
Wads Waddlewalker believes a $20.35 (#NotBy2035) donation is just right. In South Africa, it converts to a game-changing 361 rand—enough to feed an African penguin for five days as it recovers from illness or injury. May the Force be with us all.

Chocolate is an indulgence requiring delicate ecosystems (cacao trees thrive only in specific tropical climates). African penguins depend on precise marine conditions. Both are indicators of environmental health—when their habitats falter, it’s a warning that something bigger is melting down.
