So I'm very proud of the 2 reports that have been published. I hope more people will be able to read them and somehow lead to some positive impacts for the local people in Laos.
On-the-ground reporting is also difficult due to security risk and the fear among the farmers and villagers to speak against the powerful corporates and government.
From identifying the locations of the banana plantations, the Chinese and Vietnamese companies behind them, to the impacts of the plantations on the soil, we've used different investigation tools and techniques including satellite images, OSINT, Douyin, corporates databases, and lab tests.
