DAMN MEMORY BLAST I actually applied for Escape from Nevara when I was 14 - got rejected of course, was so embarrassed I deleted everything I made for it haha. Always found OCTs so cool though - but boy are they commitments! Law of Talos and the Endzone were the raddest thing I'd ever seen as a kid.

Hyden's got lil devil horns and very expensive red-tinted doll glasses that were extremely hard to find after Asia shut down shipping to the US :I Ambroys has a halo and wings and of course his glittery freckles~ Another picture of the same dolls, showing that Hyden is a little taller of the two

Ah, the reign of OCTs, I remember those days. I think it's silly that they'd reject a pair of fighters, but I'm glad these concepts could be recycled and it's Your City Now and you can have all the battlin' duos you want. :P

Technically she's not "new" -- a portrait of her is on the last page of Old Wounds (short comic bout Ambroys and Hyden I made a couple years back (eegods it's been that long)) but this is the first time I've drawn her properly.

But yes! Her name is Anya, she's a lioness, she's around the same age as Ambroys so they have a fake May/December romance that's actually just a December (immortal)/December (mortal) romance and she wants to make the world a better place (she won't).

I love a cool older lady, haha... and thank you! I find it tricky because the wrinkles and lines would be different on an animal than a human -- animals don't wrinkle like we do (fur and whatnot) and also the muscles are in different places... but I'm glad it looks plausible, the way I stylize it.

a semi-immortal being aging ungracefully
A short comic of two anthro characters in vaguely historical dress. One is a unicorn. He's a pretty looking blond man, youthful in appearance except for a few locks of white and silver hair. He's accompanied by a gray-blue, older lioness. The unicorn looks at his hair and whines: "Gods, I look so old." The lioness replies: "You know you don't." The unicorn: "Do you think anyone'd notice if I dyed this?" The lioness: "My hair began graying when I was just a girl. Will it kill you to be a bit silver in your sixties?" The unicorn: "It might." The lioness takes the unicorn's hand. The lioness says, gently: "Sunshine, listen to me. When our people see your silver hair, they don't see age. They see a mark of eminence." The unicorn responds: "Do you really think so?" The lioness: "If it makes you stop grousing about it, yes."
