The Long Walk was a surprise; very emotional and well done. One Battle After Another is incredibly timely and a tense ride. Eleanor the Great is an awful person but the stories around her made the movie. The Smashing Machine was underwhelming and a bit boring.

Reading a book where many of the people are high school bully apologists. Not a SINGLE person in MC’s life—INCLUDING HIS PARENTS—show any empathy. They’re all “maybe he’s changed” & “hurt people tend to hurt people” & FUCK THAT. My god. And the author is clearly setting him up as a love interest. 😡

Fantastic farewell for Downton Abbey. A History of Sound was beautiful and sad, and a little messy. ABBBJ was good but tried a little too hard to be poignant. And Afterburn was fun (just turn your brain off first).

Just got my $38.36 settlement payment from the Facebook Privacy lawsuit.

QQ. How much did Facebook MAKE from my data? Because our payments should be at least double that. Anything less is not a punishment for the $1.27 trillion company.

What a scam our legal system is.

Did anyone else have NO CLUE that the Emmys were last night? I saw zero ads for it and only figured out it was happening after winners were announced on Facebook. There were ads for the freaking VMAs, why not this? And I like awards shows, so I would’ve watched had I known they were on. Yeesh.

What a great week! Glad we’re getting more mid-tier indie films like these!

Lesbian Space Princess was incredibly funny. The Threesome (awful title) was wonderfully heartfelt. Twinless, vulnerable and a little sinister. And Splitsville was roaringly funny.

This is from a former manager at a company that laid me off after only 4 months on the job. A manager who didn’t fight for me, nor help me after the layoff to get a better compensation package. A company that laid off 30+% of its workforce due to poor management. But Great Place to Work, tho. 🙄

Dear UPS: What’s the point of signing up for delivery notifications when the notification is delayed BY AN HOUR? Thankfully a neighbor saw it & brought it inside before it got stolen (again).

Also, don’t mark it “delivered to front door/porch” when you actually delivered it to the side door.

Why do companies not understand when you’re just browsing beyond your means? I saw an ad for a nice gas range and clicked on it and now I keep getting emails to “take a second look!” Like, I don’t have $12k for a stove! Leave me alone!

What film school are you doing? I took a screenwriting class earlier this year and liked it, but it was just 8 3hr sessions, so really tip of the iceberg stuff. But really enjoyed it.
