Britain’s economic decline is an emergency – like war or a pandemic. If we don’t put an end to it, Nigel Farage will be Prime Minister.

The system is addicted to inertia. It needs shock therapy, now.

We’re pushing the boundaries on what we do, and how we communicate it.

Labour needs to be engaging audiences and taking risks on the online media which many now look to over traditional media outlets.

The evidence of today’s forecasts is clear: Government’s ambitious planning reforms will drive growth into the economy. £3.4bn by the end of this parliament.

Now we need to go further and faster on building, clean energy, cutting edge defence, the AI revolution & more.
Any system where the British people foot the bill for endless challenges to the vital infrastructure their communities need is broken.

Meanwhile highly-paid lawyers stack up profits and those who seek to halt progress are given free reign.

This cannot go on.
This is positive but the truth is that the seven-year process, to move a runway 12 metres, has already taken far too long and is delaying vital investment in Britain.

We need radical action to speed up decision-making and get Britain growing.

The Prime Minister made clear today that economic growth is integral to our national security in a rapidly changing world.

Every lost opportunity or dropped investment is a gift to those who want to see our country destabilised.

We say it is time to build for Britain.

"The status quo is economically and morally bankrupt. So, we’re changing it.” - @torstenbell.bsky.social

We seek a country where police can respond properly to crime and pensioners don't sit for hours in hospital corridors. That's the Britain we're building.

Today LGG co-chair @chriscurtis94.bsky.social met with Heathrow CEO Thomas Woldbye at British Steel in Scunthorpe.

They committed to work together to drive up growth across the UK - powered by Great British industries from every part of the country. 🏗️✈️
Bold and decisive action by the PM.

The taskforce should rapidly sharpen regulation to unleash both SMR and Gigawatt nuclear power - including recognising designs from countries such as France & South Korea where nuclear is built safely, quickly and cost effectively.

New nuclear has a key role to play in delivering the transformative economic potential of the AI revolution while reaching Net Zero.

SMRs should be able to go where demand is greatest so that growth is shared across every part of the country.

Good and positive CMA response to this intervention from @labourgrowth.bsky.social.

Well-regulated markets are vital to economic growth, jobs, and investment, and to protect consumers - but regulators should also be wary of overly burdening business.
We wrote to the CMA calling for a 'rapid pro-growth review' - and we welcome their response. They now have the chance to provide an example for others.

LGG represents those who need total system change, and brings the political will to deliver it.

It’s been unsustainable for blockers to so easily be able to halt progress in an endless mire of legal challenges.

Previous governments knew this, but didn’t have the guts to fix it. This one’s different and we’re backing them tirelessly as they do that.
