What has been your experience as a government employee?

With this being the first government shutdown in over 7 years, this disrupts the lives of federal workers especially Black Workers. This creates a financial and mental strain that will have lasting impacts in the coming months.

👉🏿 This is another reminder that Black workers are always expected to wait, stretch, and sacrifice. This week we’re talking about what that really looks like in our communities.

💬 How has the government shut down affected you? What are your thoughts about the shut down?

#BlackSky #LosAngelesSky
labwc.bsky.social
This shut down directly affects Black workers, with many working as Federal workers, to be impacted mentally, emotionally and most importantly financially, which can cause negative ripple effects in our communities.

🛑 On October 1st, the federal government entered a shut down due to an impasse over the congressional spending budget, the first government shut down since 2018.

🏳️‍🌈 We celebrate Senator Laphonza Butler, a community organizer, former SEIU Local 2015 president, and the first openly Black LGBTQ+ member of the U.S. Senate.

She fought on the behalf of ALL Californians, no matter their race, gender, sexuality or income!
