Agreed. It's funny how people complain that he's being fake or are annoyed at his "sunny attitude," but the moment he gets tired or cranky or snippy, it's all "see what a jerk he is."

It's got to be hard being a public figure, and as long as they're not being awful, I try to give them grace.

I’m pretty sure all the negative media affects him. But as you say, he does love Lombardia, he was probably happy it was season’s end, and also probably looking forward to the Pogi Challenge the next day.

It was nice seeing him happy and excited and smiling, though. Did my heart good. 😁

I completely agree with this. Forcing him to ride races he doesn’t want to is awful and I’m really wondering if he’s starting to regret his contract situation.

But this constant barrage of “he’s killing the sport by being too good,” whether meant personally or not, cannot be good for him either. 😬

We say “never give up,” “work hard,” “chase your dreams,” “be humble,” “love what you do,” “don’t dim your light.”

Pogi does all of these things & we go “oh, but not like that.”

To have one’s hard work dismissed, ignored, or reviled hurts. It’s no wonder the joy’s been gone a lot of this season. 🫤

Oh, and in about 35min, I find out if they're going to cut the power supply to my office. They're doing a lot of new construction and they're "turning off the back breakers."

Which may or may not shut off all power to the building.

We're going to find out!

He would be a very happy bunny if he never had to ride it again. It's kind of his fault for being so good at it.

The thing is, I don't think he'll ride the Vuelta until he can skip either the Tour or Worlds/Euros. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, and what kind of support RBBH can give him. Soudal tried, but outside of Landa (who was injured) and Van Wilder/Lecerf (both young and inconsistent), Remco didn't have much GT/climbing support at all. If he can get people like Lipo and Pelizzari to be his wingmen for a year or two...👀👀👀

The best ways I've found though, are just to pick some active fan/media accounts and interact with them as much as you are able. Most team social media accounts are also good.

Looks like you're in the US (?); to watch as much cycling as possible, you'll need HBOMax, FloBikes, and Peacock.

For chatter, I pretty much stick to BSky because I find X as a whole too toxic. The folks at @radial.racing have some good starter packs and are trying their hand at live chat feeds.

ProCyclingStats probably has the most information, but the people who run it are not...great. FirstCycling has a lot of the same info re: schedules and such. Worse comes to worse, the UCI official website has schedule information too.

I had to take a few days off from social media so I could enjoy #IlLombardia in peace. And enjoy I did. What gorgeous scenes. So very happy for Pogi & damn, Remco continues to improve. (Now just have a SAFE OFFSEASON!)

Season ain't quite done yet... #Guangxi has a fascinating startlist & I am 👀!
